The cleaning equipment we use can be the Rotary Rotovac 360i, which contains various spinning heads which rotate from 0 to 250 RPM while applying hot water cleaning solution at high pressure and simultaneously vacuuming the solution (and dirt!) from your carpet. The small hose has about 500 psi (pounds per square inch) and temperature around 200 degrees; the large hose is the vacuum. The carpet is high pressure washed leaving the carpet slightly damp, ready for drying. Drying usually takes from 4 to 6 hours for the carpet to be 90% dry. It will depend on how well the home is ventilated, and the outside humidity.
